Angela King
Angela King is an emerging performer and educator, currently serving as the Visiting Assistant Professor of Trumpet at the University of Central Arkansas. She previously taught at Texas A&M University-Kingsville and is active in the music community both nationally and internationally. As Editor of the Journal Index for the International Trumpet Guild (ITG) Journal and a member of the ITG Affiliate Chapter Committee, she contributes to the organization through writing for the ITG News Report and assisting with the ITG Conference.
As a performer, King has played with the Conway Symphony Orchestra, Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, Panama City Symphony Orchestra, and South Georgia Ballet Orchestra. Internationally, she has performed with the Orquesta Integrada de las Clínicas Instrumentales in Cartagena, Colombia, Orvieto Musica in Italy, and in the Dominican Republic. King is also a founding member of the Capital City Brass Quintet, which tours both nationally and internationally, including a 2023 tour to Costa Rica where they provided masterclasses and community performances. Additionally, she performs with Pinnacle Brass, the faculty brass quintet at UCA.
King has taught at the Brass Institutes of America and serves as Assistant Director for the Stetson University Brass and Percussion Camp. In October 2024, she was on faculty at the Institución Universitaria Bellas Artes y Ciencias de Bolívar in Cartagena, Colombia. King holds a Doctor of Music degree from Florida State University, as well as degrees from Ithaca College and Troy University. Her teachers include Christopher Moore, Aaron Witek, Christopher Coletti, and Michael Huff.
